Kangbaina Hotel (Beijing Dongzhimen Yonghegong Branch)

No. 22, Dongzhimen Inner North Street

About The Hotel

The hotel is located in Dongzhimen North Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, adjacent to Yongkang Hutong. The "Coabana" brand was founded in 2016 and officially became independent in 2021. This area of the hotel was part of Chongjiaofang during the Ming Dynasty, known as Jilesi Hutong, and was later renamed Yongkang Hutong. The religious term "Jile World" (Blissful World) was changed to the secular term "Yongkang" (Eternal Health).

The hotel is situated in the central administrative area of Dongzhimen, Beijing, near attractions and famous landmarks such as the Overseas Chinese Museum, the Imperial College, Yonghe Temple, the Russian Embassy, Nanguan Park, and Gui Street. To the north and east, it provides direct access to the North and East Second Ring Roads and the Airport Expressway. To the west and south, it leads to Yongkang Hutong and Dongsi Shitiao, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding scenic spots. Nearby metro hubs include Yonghe Temple, Dongzhimen, and the Airport Expressway Extension Station.

The Chinese character "Kang" in "Coabana" comes from Yongkang Hutong, a cultural relic protection unit in Dongcheng District. The term "Baina" in "Coabana" originates from a poem by Tang Dynasty poet Fazhao: "Seeking mountains with patched clothes, crossing the sea with a light cup." The word "Coabana" also means "good place, fertile land."

The design inspiration for the "Coabana" brand logo comes from the lotus flower. The history of the lotus in Beijing can be traced back to the period of King Wu of Zhou, when "Lianhuachi Park" was called "West Lake" or "Taihu Lake." It was named "Lianhuachi" because of the extensive planting of lotus flowers and was a major water source for ancient Beijing. The lotus has always been a subject of poetry and painting for poets and artists. The entire staff of Coabana Hotel aspires to embody the noble character of the lotus and warmly welcome guests from all over the world.
