Zhuyuan Hotel is a typical Qing Dynasty courtyard, covering an area of about 21 acres. The ancient trees, bamboo groves, and the courtyard have coexisted for nearly a hundred years, creating a perfection that modern technology can never replicate. This is a residence with over 200 years of history, once given by Empress Dowager Cixi to the chief eunuch An Dehai. Many historical figures have lived here. It was once the residence of Sheng Xuanhuai, who is honored as the "Pioneer of Modern Chinese Enterprises," "Father of Early Chinese Industry," and "Modern Chinese Industrialist": the Minister of Posts and Communications in the late Qing Dynasty.
With over 200 years of splendid historical and cultural heritage, Zhuyuan Hotel has its unique cultural connotation. The hotel currently houses hundreds of famous calligraphy and paintings, dozens of plaques, couplets, and antithetical couplets, all created by renowned artists. Among them are works by modern and contemporary masters such as Wu Yurou, Bai Xueshi, Da Kang, He Haixia, Qi Gong, Dong Shouping, Liu Haisu, Liu Bingsen, and Tao Yiqing. This rich cultural heritage adds a cultural feast to Zhuyuan.
The hotel has more than 30 rooms of various specifications, all in the Ming and Qing style, simple yet elegant, and pleasing to the eye. The courtyard features an à la carte restaurant, banquet hall, and tea bar, making it an ideal place for hosting high-end banquets and business meetings.
